MS Word 2010
MS Word 2010 ruler features appear to be mis-programmed in Office 2010. Tested various computers with Windows 7 as OS and all report the same.
1)Both horizontal and vertical rulers are mismarked.
2)Vertical ruler is only 10″ vs 11″ as it should be for 8.5X11″ portrait paper.
(Mismarked = 0 is 1 and 1 is 1, Vertical ruler does not have a mark for 9,10,11 positions)
Vertical ruler – two issues – mismarked and not 11″ for 8.5″X11″ paper:
1) It does not show 0-11″ – instead it shows 1-8
2) 1 as the beginning, 1 as the first inch past the margin and it does not show 9, 10 or 11
it goes 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, then no numeral for the end margin or end of paper ruler.
On the Horizontal ruler – it is the correct size it is just mismarked. It begins at 1, then it shows 1 again at the first non-margin entry point (where one would place text or objects in the body of the document).
This occurred recently on the various machines – potentially post updates.
For some of my clients it is a huge problem as they design within Word and depend upon the ruler for orientation/layout/positioning.
